Here’s some light paintings of traffic on Interstate 84 going to and from Portland at 6am in the morning.

faded printer beauty
i found a Canon PIXMA ip1700 for freesies on the sidewalk the other day. it had a little sign on it that said “FREE prints fine, a little streaky”. it was also a little wet because it had been raining for an hour or so. anyway, i dried the printer out, cleaned it up, put a cat sticker on it, and named it Sassypants.
the print test sheet is beautiful in its own way, faded and sans magenta.
then i thought, perhaps it would be interesting to see a drawing printed with the low cartridges. i printed my most recent color drawing.
what was a broken printer to one is an unexpected charm to another.
floating to infinity
i participated in the artist’s program Float Creations over at Float HQ on Hawthorne. to learn more about float tanks and the benefits of floating, check out their website.
it was an anti-gravity experience, it felt surreal floating on super-salty water. since the tank can only be so big, i would occasionally drift against the walls of the float tank. i imagined large creatures brushing past on the way to infinity.
fat bee comics
I was drawing a bunch of bees and it turned into these.
repurposed sign for Rainbow Lotus
I repainted an old sign to make a new sign for the Rainbow Lotus. Even though the plywood had been stored outside for a while, it was still in good shape.
rocks are purdy
recently i was at the Oregon coast, the beaches are so rocky and beautiful.
“A pile of rocks ceases to be a rock when somebody contemplates it with the idea of a cathedral in mind.”
hello from the clouds
i am in the process of getting a new scanner. i still wanted to share drawings, so I’m taking pictures of them with my digital camera. i think it worked out.
